Working together towards one goal: Women’s Equality!
In order for women to gain equality (economic/social/political), we must stop fighting for everyone else’s rights and join together to fight for our own. Women always identify with the men in our lives- our husbands, clergy/God, bosses, political leaders, etc. We never look at each other across whatever other divide exists (race/religion/income/etc) and acknowledge that what we have in common is that we are all women. Whatever other forms of institutionalized oppression we experience, we are all living within the constraints of sexism. Allowing ourselves to be divided into black women and white women, rich women and poor women, Democratic women and Republican women just weakens our collective power. Together we are more than half the world. Men will never give us power. It is up to us to take it for ourselves, become “woman-identified”, and make the world a better, equal place for everyone!
